Addendum (10/29/17 - 9:45 pm). Please Note: PSA mislabeled this ticket. This ticket is from Game 5 of the World Series, not Game 3. It was the third game played in Chicago, not the third game of the Series. The lot description has been amended accordingly. Scarce and highly desirable ticket stub (3.75 x 2.75 inches) from Game 3 of the infamous 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds, held at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Encapsulated and certified as "Authentic" by PSA. This is one of only eleven 1919 World Series Game 5 tickets authenticated by PSA, six of which are certified as "Authentic." Cincinnati defeated Chicago 5-0 in Game 5. Few, if any, 1919 World Series ticket stubs have survived in perfect shape, and this is example is no exception. The ticket displays a number of light-to-moderate creases, as well as pencil notations on the reverse. The 1919 World Series is still the most famous and talked about World Series in baseball history. As such, this ticket has a historical significance and universal appeal that transcends ticket collecting. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+.
