Scarce and highly desirable ticket stub (4 x 2 inches) from Game 2 of the infamous 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds, held at Redland Field in Cincinnati. Encapsulated and certified as "Authentic" by PSA. This is one of thirteen 1919 World Series Game 2 tickets authenticated by PSA, with all but 3 certified as "Authentic." White Sox starting pitcher Lefty Williams made a better showing in Game 2 than Eddie Cicotte did in Game 1, but the result was the same as the Sox dropped their second straight game to the Reds, by a score of 4-2. The ticket displays a number of moderate-to-heavy creases, a staple hole, and a rough tear along the left border. The 1919 World Series is still the most famous and talked about World Series in baseball history. As such, this ticket has a historical significance and universal appeal that transcends ticket collecting. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+.
