New York Giants program issued for the 1912 World Series against the Boston Red Sox. The colorful cover, which makes this program so ideal for display, features a beautiful illustration of Giants manager John McGraw displaying a scroll with the Giants' record from 1903 to 1912, and a small inset photo of team president John T. Brush. The 16 interior pages include team photos of both the Giants and Red Sox, photos of Giants team executives, photos of both American and National League executives, and even a full-page political advertisement for the Democratic Presidential ticket of Woodrow Wilson and Thomas Marshall. Neatly scored in pencil to record New York's 5-2 victory in Game 6. Boston eventually defeated the Giants in eight games (one game ended in a tie), with the Series regarded by many historians as one of the most exciting ever played. The victory also marked the first of Boston's four World Championships during the decade. The 1912 Giants World Series program is far rarer than its Boston counterpart, and this is only the fifth we have offered in the past 14 years. The program (9 x 11 inches) displays a moderate vertical fold (quite unobtrusive with regard to exterior appearance), a tiny chip in the upper-right corner of the front cover, and a few tiny edge tears to the back cover. Technically In Very Good to Excellent condition, but closer to Ex-Mt in its overall appearance. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
