Rare ticket stub (4 x 1.75 inches) to the fourth game of the 1911 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants, held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA/DNA. This is one of only four 1911 World Series Game 4 tickets authenticated by PSA and it represents the second highest-graded example. Game 4 of the 1911 World Series featured a pitching rematch between Game 1 starters Christy Mathewson and Chief Bender. While Mathewson got the best of Bender and the A's in the first game, Bender evened the score with a 4-2 win in Game 4, which gave Philadelphia a commanding 3-1 lead in the Series. The A's eventually won the Series in 6 games to claim their second consecutive World Championship. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500++.
