Official American League (Brown) ball signed in blue ink across the sweet spot by Mickey Mantle, who has added his original uniform number, "No. 6," directly below his name. Graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (autograph grade of "10," ball grade of "8," resulting in a final grade of "9"). While there are a small number of Mantle "No. 7" single-signed balls circulating in the hobby, this is one of fewer than 5 Mantle "No. 6" single-signed balls we can recall having seen. It is also the highest-graded example we are aware of, making it both a rare and highly desirable Mantle single. (Mantle wore No. 6 with the Yankees when he first debuted with the club in 1951, but his number was changed to No. 7 later in the year after he was recalled from the minors.) Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
