Unique 500 Home Run Club autographed novelty baseball, featuring the blue-Sharpie signatures of the following 11 members of that elite fraternity: Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Reggie Jackson, Willie McCovey, Frank Robinson, Ernie Banks, Mike Schmidt, Harmon Killebrew, and Eddie Mathews. All of the signatures display light bleeding but still grade "8/9" overall. This ball, which measures an enormous 38 inches in circumference (a regulation ball measures 9 inches in circumference), is one of the most unusual 500 Home Run Club signed items we have ever seen and one that makes for both an outstanding display and conversation piece. While we do not know the history of its signing, it was almost certainly obtained back in the 1980s, when these 11 players represented the the then-living members of the Club (5 of the players are now dead). The size of this ball allows for 5 signatures to appear on the sweet spot and, needless to say, there is more than enough room to add the autographs of more recent members. There is a slight surface blemish on one of the side panels; otherwise it is in Near Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
