Graded NM-MT 8 by BVG (Beckett). Extraordinary and stunning high-grade example of Pete Rose’s rookie card. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Rose's rookie card is the key to the 1963 Topps set, and one of the most popular of all postwar baseball cards. This card is particularly difficult to find in high grade due to the flush-to-the-border design, which makes the top edges and corners so susceptible to wear. The offered example is pack-fresh with four sharp corners, bright colors, a flawless image, virtually no chipping to the extreme edges of the condition-sensitive blue border, and with superb, near-perfect centering, far better than normal encountered with this card. The reverse is entirely clean and very well centered. A spectacular example of this most sought-after modern baseball-card classic in Nr/Mt-Mt condition. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+.
