Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. Exceptional high-grade example of one of Ted Williams' most popular cards. This is a sharp example of this classic 1950s baseball card featuring the Splendid Splinter, one of the game's most popular Hall of Famers and a legendary member of the Boston Red Sox franchise. The offered example is bright and clean, front and back, with flawless colors, four strong corners, and centered to the left. The gray back is clean and boldly printed. Though Williams broke into the majors all the way back in 1939, when this card was issued during his seventeenth Major League season he was still in top form. Williams hit .345 in 1956, and the statistics on the reverse of the card show Williams hitting .356 the previous season as well. An exceptionally attractive, crisp, high-grade example of 1956 Topps #5 Ted Williams. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
