Collection of seven different wrapper variations from the classic 1933 Goudey baseball-card issue. Each of these wrappers was used to package the classic 1933 Goudeys, the most famous and popular of all baseball cards of the early 1930s. Different wrappers were used at different times by the Goudey Gum Co. during the 1933 season. We are aware of eight different wrapper variations from this set. Several of these wrapper styles saw very limited use and are extremely scarce, making a near-complete set as offered here a particularly impressive assembly. The colorful wrappers are all very attractive, of course, as they were designed specifically to attract attention to the company's product. This lot consists of the following: 1) batter type front - 3 corner. 2) batter type front - 4 corner. 3) batter type front - 3 figure. 4) batter type front - 6 figure. 5) ad type front - 3 corner. 6) ad type front - 4 corner. 7) ad type front - 3 figure. Missing only the ad type front - 6 figure wrapper for completion. The wrappers are in overall Very Good condition, with bright colors, no rips or tears, and moderate wrinkling. This series of wrappers is rarely offered as a complete or near-complete set and is highly prized by both prewar baseball-wrapper and baseball-card collectors. Total: 7 wrappers. Reserve $300.
