Superb trio of 1914 E145 Cracker Jack cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA except for Chance), consisting of legendary Chicago Cubs Hall of Famers Frank Chance (GOOD 30), Johnny Evers (FAIR 20), and Joe Tinker (GOOD+ 35). The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems including caramel staining. This is an extremely attractive trio of cards featuring these key Hall of Famers. Each is bright and crisp, with minimal caramel staining. Bold red backgrounds and outstanding centering. The Chance card in particular presents much better than its technically accurate grade and has been downgraded from Excellent solely due to erased pencil in the nameplate area and a stray mark near the top border. This is an exceptionally attractive trio of 1914 Cracker Jack Hall of Famers. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the two half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $1,150. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
