This is the ultimate "Mars Attacks" uncut sheet! The complete set of all 55 "Mars Attacks" cards is presented on this extraordinary Topps final proof sheet from 1962. Every horrifying scene from the most famous sci-fi card set ever issued is represented, along with the checklist card (#55). The final-process images presented on the sheet are printed in full color, with a Mylar overlay which provides the black process to each card. This is how the final process proof sheet was produced by Topps for the purpose of proofing by the printer, to allow for approval of the production of the set. The mylar overlay is not easily detected, but very close examination has allowed us to determine both that it is present, and its purpose. The offered sheet has a particularly noteworthy provenance: as indicated by the Xeroxed paperwork taped to the reverse of the frame, it was purchased directly from the famous 1989 Topps/Guernsey's auction! It is only the second final-process sheet we ever seen or heard of (the first appeared as Lot #864 in REA's 2004 auction, realizing $10,925). Like all proof sheets, the colors are absolutely perfect, and the backs are blank (we have not removed this sheet from the frame to confirm this, but we are virtually 100% positive this would be the case). The sheet and all 55 cards on it present in flawless Mint condition. This is a spectacular uncut proof sheet of extraordinary significance representing one of the most important and popular nonsport sets ever issued. Extremely colorful and vibrant, this complete uncut proof set is arguably the most impressive of all display items in existence related to the legendary "Mars Attacks" series.
