San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIX ring issued to former player and front-office executive R. C. Owens, complete with its original presentation box. The 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX, which was held at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, Florida, on January 29, 1995. The victory marked the club's fifth Super Bowl victory and the design of this ring reflects that history of excellence. The front of the 10K gold ring features a depiction of five Super Bowl trophies, each crafted with various size diamonds, which in turn rest on a bed of smaller diamonds. The lettering along the bezel reads "Forty Niners." The year, "1994," is also displayed on the bezel, with a single numeral displayed in each corner. One shank features the name "Owens," a representation of five Super Bowl trophies, the team name "49ers," and the team's record "16-3." The opposite shank features three enameled components consisting of the team's logo, the Super Bowl XXIX logo, and the NFL's 75th anniversary logo. Also displayed on the shank is the score of Super Bowl XXIX, "49-25," and the number "5." It should be noted the number "5" does not denote the five Super Bowls won by the franchise. Instead, it signifies that R. C. Owens was member of the 49ers organization for all five of those Super Bowl victories. The engraving "LGB 10K" (Balfour) appears on the interior band.

Owens, nicknamed "alley oop" for his unique ability to leap high in the high air for thrown balls, was one of the 49ers' top receivers during the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1979 he returned to the club as a front-office executive, serving in that capacity for over twenty years. Owens died in 2012, at which time a collector privately purchased this ring directly from the Owens family. (Copies of the paperwork memorializing that transaction are included with the ring.) The ring, which is identical in design to those issued to the players, remains in Near Mint condition. Accompanied by its original wood-and-glass presentation box (7.5 x 6 x 2.75 inches), which is lettered "San Francisco Forty Niners 1994 Super Bowl XXIX Champions" on the lid (Ex-Mt). Size: approximately 13.75. Weight: approximately 50 grams. Reserve $10,000. Estimate (open).
