Prewar Baseball - T Tobacco Cards
Presented is a collection of four T206 White Border Ty Cobb cards representing three of the four Cobb poses within this legendary set. This collection consists of two green portraits, red portrait, and bat off shoulder pose. Missing only the bat on variation for a complete assembly of all four Ty Cobb poses. Each of these cards has been encapsulated by PSA (except one BVG-Beckett). 1) Ty Cobb/portrait, green background (Sweet Caporal) graded VG 3 by Beckett (we grade this card slightly lower than Beckett). 2) Ty Cobb/portrait, green background (Piedmont) graded Authentic by PSA. 3) Ty Cobb/portrait, red background (Tolstoi) graded PR 1 by PSA. 4) Ty Cobb/bat off shoulder (Piedmont) graded Authentic by PSA. These are very attractive low-grade examples with great eye-appeal. For the Cobb collector who is not interested in paying a king's ransom for cards in higher grade, but still wants very respectable original 1910-era cards of Ty Cobb, or the T206 set builder seeking to fill in these three big slots, this collection presents an exceptional opportunity and potentially represents an extraordinary value. Four very attractive cards (three different poses) of the "Georgia Peach" from the most popular set of the era. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000++.
