Rare full ticket and stub issued for the heavyweight title rematch between champion Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston scheduled for November 16, 1964, at the Boston Garden. This is an exceedingly rare ticket because the fight was abruptly canceled when Ali suffered a hernia three days before the scheduled bout. The fight ultimately took place on May 25, 1965, in Lewiston, Maine. This is the first example of this ticket we have ever offered and we have only seen a few others. The "auxillary press" full ticket (5.25 x 2 inches), which features portrait images of each fighter, displays a staple hole near the left border and is otherwise in Excellent condition overall. Together with a ticket stub from the fight (1.75 x 2 inches) bearing Ali's portrait (Gd- Vg, with "void" punch hole and staple hole). Total: 2 items: full ticket and stub. Reserve $200.
