On May 8, 1968, Jim "Catfish" Hunter became the tenth pitcher in baseball history to pitch a perfect game when he blanked the Twins 4-0 at Oakland-Alameda Coliseum. Offered here is an exceedingly rare ticket stub from that historic game. The stub (1.5 x 1.75 inches) has both the score of the game and the notation "Perfect Game Hunter" written on the reverse in vintage blue ink. That aside, it remains in Excellent to Mint condition. It must be pointed out that only 6,298 fans attended the game that day, which has resulted in its great rarity today. This is the only ticket stub from that game we have ever seen. Accompanied by a Catfish Hunter single-signed ball that would be perfect for display with the ticket. The official American League (Brown) ball has been signed in blue ink (grading "9/10") across the sweet spot, with Hunter adding the notation "Perfect Game 5-8-68" below his signature (extends into the east panel).
