Presented is an outstanding sample card from the 1908 American League Publishing Company Postcard series featuring Hall of Famer Elmer Flick. Flick is pictured in a fielding pose on the front of the postcard, with a small portrait in an oval alongside and biographical information at the bottom. A green overprint for Collister & Sayle Athletic Outfitters of Cleveland is present in the upper right corner. The card presents with a crisp image, light corner wear, and a boldly printed traditional postcard reverse. A heavy vertical crease accounts for the assigned grade of GOOD 30 by SGC. In our opinion, this card has a slight trim along the top border, which is very consistent with other known examples from this set, and should likely be encapsulated as Authentic. This is a very presentable sample card from this rare issue that would be a worthy addition to any advanced postcard, Hall of Fame, or type-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
