Collection of four Almendares Cuban-League pennants and a beret dating from the 1950s. Cuban-League items are exceedingly rare. We have never handled any of these items before and the the fact that they were issued in support of the Almendares club, which was one of the oldest and most successful franchises in Cuban-League history, makes them especially desirable. It should be noted that this collection has been consigned by an extremely dedicated Cuban-baseball historian and is one of several Cuban/Mexican/Negro League lots originating from him in this auction. 1) Almendares beret featuring an illustration of a scorpion on top bearing the names of seven team members. Size 7. Ex, with tears to interior leather headband. 2) "Almendares Campeon 1950-1951" banner with fringe base.8.25 x 11 inches. Vg, with heavy fading and a few edge teas. 3) Almendares blue-felt pennant picturing a generic baseball batter and team name. 23.25 inches.
