Red-felt pennant issued in commemoration of the 1951 All-Star Game played at Briggs Stadium in Detroit. The graphics features a generic player in a fielding pose, with the text reading "All Star Baseball Game." Above and below the central design are the last names for many of the American and National League participants, including Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Yogi Berra, Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Stan Musial, and Pee Wee Reese. Because they were produced for a single event, all All-Star Game pennants are rare. This one, dating from Joe DiMaggio's final All-Star Game appearance, is an especially attractive example as well. The pennant (26.75 inches) does not have tassels, but there is no evidence of them having been torn or removed, and the pennant is most likely in its original state of issue. Near Mint condition overall. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
