1903 W601 Brooklyn Superbas Sporting Life team composite featuring Hall of Fame manager Ned Hanlon in the center. Included among the fourteen players represented here are Henry Schmidt, Oscar Jones, Jack Doyle, and Jimmy Scheckard. These Sporting Life team composites (13 x 14 inches), printed on heavy enamel paper and issued by the Sporting Life newspaper, were available to fans either by individual purchase (for ten cents) or as a complete set in a bound volume. The offered example was originally obtained by the latter method, as three binding holes are present along the left border. The piece displays a tiny chip in the right corner and is otherwise Excellent to Mint in its overall appearance; however, it has been matted by means of clear tape along all four borders on the reverse.
