Outstanding 20-card uncut sheet of 1959 Fleer Ted Williams cards, highlighted by the inclusion of the rare #68 "Ted Signs." While rarely seen, uncut sections of various sizes do exist from the 1959 Fleer Ted Williams set, all of which were obviously long ago cut down from larger, full production sheets. (Interestingly, to the best of our knowledge, no full 1959 Fleer Ted Williams production sheets have survived; we've never seen or heard of one.) The rare card #68 "Ted Signs" features Ted with Red Sox General Manager Bucky Harris (himself a Hall of Famer). This card was withdrawn from production due to legal issues relating to Fleer's unauthorized use of Harris' image. This is an especially noteworthy uncut sheet section as it includes the withdrawn rare card #68, but the sheet also includes several particularly desirable milestone cards, such as Ted's 400th home run and Triple Crown win, as well as the two-player card featuring Jim Thorpe. The sheet has tremendous display value, presenting as Excellent, but displays a series of small creases, including one that passes through the top left corner of card #68, which cause it technically grade modestly. It remains bright, crisp, and clean, with bold colors and is ideal for framing and display. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,200
