Extremely scarce original program to the first heavyweight championship fight between Sonny Liston and Cassius Clay held at the Miami Beach Convention Hall on February 25, 1964. This was the fight in which Clay "shocked the world" with his TKO of heavily favored champion Sonny LIston in seven rounds. The twelve-page program features photos of each fighter on the cover, as well as full-length images of both on the centerfold scorecard. The program (9 x 12 inches) is not scored and aside from minor oxidation to the staples it remains in spectacular Near Mint condition. This is not only the first example of this program we have ever handled, but the finest we have ever seen. An exemplary copy of one of the most historically significant fight programs of the postwar era. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $3,000
