Cleveland Indians home vest-style jersey worn by pitcher Jim "Mudcat" Grant in 1963, together with a matching pair of home pants (worn by another player in the 1964 season), belt, and stirrup socks. The white flannel jersey, with zipper front, features the team's "Smiling Indian" logo on the left breast and the number "33" (appliquéd in navy felt) on the right breast and reverse. The year, "63," is chain-stitched in black on the left front tail. Also located on the left front tail are a "Wilson 42" label (with the length, "34 Leth" written in black marker along the base) and an adjacent flag tag that has the jersey's number, size, and length ("33 42 34") written in red ink. The jersey is accompanied by a matching pair of white flannel pants that were apparently worn by pitcher Jack Kralick in 1964. Both a "Wilson 34" label and an adjacent "64" year tag appear in the waistband, as does the name, "Kralick," written in faded black marker. The ensemble also includes an original red-and-black belt, and pair of blue stirrup socks (with red and white stripes). Both the jersey and pants are original as issued, with no alterations, and display light wear. "Mudcat" Grant won 13 games for the Indians in 1963. Two years later, in 1965, he won a league-high 21 games, which helped lead the Minnesota Twins to the pennant. He finished his fourteen-year career with 145 wins and a 3.63 lifetime ERA. This is an exceptional, high-grade Cleveland Indians 1960s flannel, worn by one of the more prominent pitchers of the era. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,440
