Brooklyn Dodgers press pin issued for the 1920 World Series against the Cleveland Indians. This is an extremely high-grade example of this early press pin rarity. The bright red enamel border reads "World Series" and "1920" in gold lettering. The center displays a convex baseball design in gold that reads "Brooklyn." The red enamel border is flawless, with no wear or scratching as is usually found with this pin. The convex design of the center of this pin usually makes the gold center section susceptible to much wear and scratching; on this example the wear is minimal. The reverse has only light wear, which is far less than is commonly seen with this pin. This is a particularly outstanding high-grade example of this rare press pin and one that would be a worthy inclusion or upgrade in just about any advanced press-pin collection. The reverse has the rare clasp pin backing as opposed to the more commonly found threaded post. Nr/Mt condition. Dieges & Clust. Diameter: 0.75 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,200
