In the world of baseball sheet music, probably no player had more songs dedicated to him than Babe Ruth. While that probably comes as no surprise, it obviously irked Lou Gehrig's wife, Eleanor, who, in 1935, took it upon herself to finally write and dedicate a song to her husband. Offered here is an example of that musical homage, titled I Can't Get to First Base With You. The cover features a large photo of Gehrig in uniform, as well as a smaller portrait image of Eleanor Gehrig. Written by Fred Fisher and Mrs. Lou Gehrig. Published by the Fred Fisher Music Co., New York. The sheet music (9 x 12 inches) displays a few light creases and two small edge tears (one at the base and the other along the spine). In Very Good condition overall. Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $420
