Title lobby card to the 1935 Three Stooges short Hoi Polloi . In this classic film, a professor attempts to transform the Stooges into cultured, refined gentlemen, with the predictably disastrous results. This is an exceedingly rare Stooges lobby card, with few examples of any paper surviving from this film. The card (14 x 11 inches) has benefitted from professional restoration, mainly along all four white borders, including replacement of two corner chips in the upper right and left, replacement of a small tear along the top border, and repair to approximately eleven pin/tack holes, a few of which appear in the main body of the card. A few vintage pencil notations (the name of the film) appear on the reverse. It should be noted that all of the restoration was extremely well done, and the card displays an Excellent to Mint overall appearance. Reserve $2,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $7,110
