Postwar Baseball - 1950s Cards
Extremely attractive example of Roy McMillan from the 1955 Kahn's set, the first and rarest set issued by the popular food manufacturer. This set, which features six members of the Cincinnati Redlegs team, was available at a Cincinnati amusement park for only one day. Cards from this set are considerably rarer than those from any of the other Kahn's sets, which were issued annually for fifteen years through 1969. Only twenty-two examples of any player have been graded by SGC and PSA combined. Graded FAIR 20 by SGC, this example presents as Excellent but has been downgraded due to light pencil writing on the back, which reads "Gus Bell," another member of the Redlegs team. This is the ONLY example of McMillan that has been graded by SGC, and only two others have been graded by PSA (one Authentic and one VG-EX 4). This is a very attractive example from one of the 1950s' most legendary rare regional sets. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,067
