Collection of five different nineteenth-century boxing cabinet cards, each professionally graded and encapsulated as Authentic by PSA. 1) Circa 1890 Cabinet Photo Card John L. Sullivan: Arms Crossed/Facing Right variation. Outstanding photo contrast, crease and wrinkle free, pinholes at top and bottom. 2) Circa 1890 Richard K. Fox Police Gazette Cabinet Photo Card Billy Plimmer: Excellent image, strong photo contrast, light wear to corners with a small piece of missing stock visible in the reverse lower right corner, small pencil notation of "75" in the reverse upper left. 3) 1894 H558 X-Zalia Cabinet Card James J. Corbett: Marked Altered due to tape repair on reverse of small tear which breaks through the front. Otherwise Excellent apperance. 4) 1895 N566 Newsboy Cabinet Photo Card J. J. Corbett: Fighting pose. Exceptional photo contrast, overall Vg to Vg-Ex apperance. 5) 1895 N566 Newsboy Cabinet Photo Card J. J. Corbett: Portrait pose. Strong image, heavy creasing on mount visible on reverse along with a crease extending through the right side of the image, surface wear along top border. Although all five cards are encapsulated as "Authentic", the X-Zalia Corbett is the only one that we believe has been altered in any way (due to the previously mentioned tape repair). This attractive selection of nineteenth-century cabinet-card rarities featuring several legendary prizefighters would making an outstanding addition to any advanced boxing-card collection. Total: 5 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++. SOLD FOR $533
