Mark McGwire Rawlings block-letter (full name) model ("MAC25") bat dating from the historic 1998 season. Graded GU 8.5 by PSA/DNA. The bat is not cracked and shows evidence of use along its entire length, including numerous ball marks and stitch impressions, bat-rack marks, and a moderate coat of pine tar on the lower handle and center brand. McGwire's name and the bat's original weight ("McGwire 33") are both written on the knob in what appears to be black ink. Stamped on the name are the bat's model number ("MAC25"), order number ("584"), and year ("98"). McGwire rewrote the record books in 1998 by belting an astounding 70 home runs (a record since broken by Bobby Bonds). He finished his career with 583 home runs and a best-ever home-run ratio of one every 10.61 at bats. Length: 34.5 inches. Weight: 34 ounces. LOA from John Taube and Vince Malta of PSA/DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,067
