Half-sheet movie poster for Eagle Lion Films' The Jackie Robinson Story (1950). Released just three years after Jackie Robinson's historic debut with the Dodgers, the film starred Robinson as himself and Minor Watson as Branch Rickey. The half-sheet poster for this film is much scarcer than the one-sheet and we have only seen a few examples over the years. The poster (28 x 22 inches) has been linen-backed, and displays a number of edge tears along all four borders that have been ameliorated by the backing process. The central image remains clean and bright. Excellent in its overall appearance and ideal for display! Mounted and framed to total dimensions of 31.5 x 29 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
