This glazed ceramic ginger-beer bottle, circa 1900, is an extraordinary surviving relic from one of Cap Anson's many entrepreneurial ventures. The logo reads "Capt A.C. Anson's, Anson & Birrell, Trademark GB, Chicago." The legend of Anson's Ginger Beer includes the story that Anson was storing the inventory of full bottles in his basement when the bottles exploded (presumably because the cold-storage conditions froze the ginger beer) thus putting an end to the business venture. Height: 7 inches. There are a few small "pits" to the glazed surface, otherwise in Excellent condition.
