Postwar Baseball - 1970s to Present Cards
Complete set of 75 cards (plus one variation): 65% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including five Mint) and 35% Ex (including three Vg-Ex) mostly due to very minor wear at the corners. This set is entirely free of cracking and other major surface imperfections, which are so common to the 3-D style issues. Cards of Tom Seaver, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, Pete Rose, and many other stars and Hall of Fame members highlight the set. Also included is an unnumbered variation of Claude Osteen. Twenty-nine cards (39%) from this set are graded by PSA (except for two SGC). PSA Grading Composite: Five MINT 9: #24, 29 (OC), 31 Sutton (HOF), 57, and 63. One NM-MT+ 8.5: #43 (SGC NM/MT+ 92). Four NM-MT 8: #38, 47, 49, and 70. Two NM 7: #20 and 53. Six EX-MT 6: #28, 37, 39, 42, 62, and 65 Rose. Nine EX 5: #10 Mays (HOF), 17 Brock (HOF), 19 Aparicio (HOF), 23, 26, 50 Banks (HOF), 58 Perez (HOF), 61 Williams (HOF), and 74. Two VG-EX 4: #2 Seaver (HOF, SGC VG/EX 50) and 36. The 1971 set is by far the key year for a Kellogg's set run, as this was the only year that collectors were not offered the opportunity to order a complete set directly from Kellogg's. The only way to assemble a 1971 Kellogg's set was to buy countless boxes of cereal, which included only one card per box. Completing a set took a Herculean effort! Total: 76 cards (complete set of 75 plus one variation). SOLD FOR $1,680
