One-sheet movie poster issued for the 1946 Three Stooges short G. I. Wanna Home . This one sheet is noteworthy for the fact that the studio art department mistakenly labeled Moe as "Larry" and Larry as "Moe" when applying the names on each character's respective hat. A similar mistake also occurred on the paper issued for the 1940 short No Census No Feeling . The 1946 film, which was the 94th to feature Moe, Larry, and Curly, concerned the boys' attempt to build a home after returning from the war. Three Stooges one-sheets dating from the team's "golden age" (1934-1947; those featuring Curly as part of the trio) are not only the most desirable of all paper from their films, but also the rarest. Prior to this extraordinary offering by REA (which is being conducted over a number of auctions), we have seen fewer than twenty different-titled Three Stooges one-sheets from this early era offered at public auction in the past fifteen years. To put that number in proper perspective, it should be noted that the Stooges starred in ninety-seven shorts during that fourteen-year period. The poster (27 x 41 inches) is linen-backed and has benefitted from standard touchups along the fold line, as well as to a few pinholes along the border. Excellent to Mint in appearance.
