Pete Rose Mizuno signature-model bat (no model number listed) dating from the 1984 season. Rose's facsimile signature is stamped on the knob, as are his team affiliation and year, "Montreal Expos/1984." The bat displays moderate-to-heavy use along its entire length, including several ball marks and stitch impressions on the right and front barrel, blue bat-rack marks, an impression from a weighted donut, light pine tar on the lower handle and barrel, and a six-inch crack in the upper handle. The bat also displays six separate wraps of brown tape on the handle. Rose's uniform number ("14") and the letter "G" (for "Game") are written on the knob in blue pen. The letter "A" is stamped on the knob. Rose has signed the bat in blue Sharpie (grading "10") on the barrel, directly below the barrel stamping. 1984 represented Rose's only season with the Expos. Rose signed with Montreal as a free agent on January 20, 1994, but he was traded to the Reds on August 16th of that year after having appeared in ninety-five games with the Expos. Rose batted .259 with no home runs and 23 RBI during his short stint with the Expos, and finished the year with an overall season average of .286. Rose bats dating from his single season in Montreal are scarce and the offered bat represents an outstanding example. Length: 33.5 inches. Weight: 30.8 ounces. LOA from John Taube and Vince Malta of PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,777.50
