In 1958 the Yankees reclaimed the title of World Champions by defeating the Milwaukee Braves in a hard-fought seven-game series. That winter, manager Casey Stengel was the celebrated guest of honor at a special testimonial dinner given by the Westwood Shrine Club on January 14, 1959. In conjunction with that special honor, the Shriners issued a special commemorative pin to mark the occasion. Offered here is one of those now extremely rare pins distributed that evening. The oversized pin (3.5 inches in diameter) features a bust-length image of Stengel in uniform, with the captions along the top and bottom rims reading, respectively, "Westwood Shrine Club" and "Casey Stengel Testimonial Dinner." The date, "Jan. 14th 1959" is lettered directly below Stengel's image. The pin has a few light scratches, which do not detract in the least from its display value and otherwise Excellent condition.
