Substantial sixteen-page large-format program issued for the 1921 World Series between the Giants and Yankees. The cover features large portrait images of each club's respective manager, John McGraw and Miller Huggins, while the interior pages include photos of league and team officials, as well as portraits of twenty-four members of both the Yankees and Giants. Because both teams called the Polo Grounds home in 1921, the programs for all of the games, published by Harry M. Stevens, were identical in design. This program has been neatly scored in pencil for Game 2 of the series and records a 3-0 victory by the Yankees. The Giants defeated the Yankees five games to three in the 1921 fall classic, which marked the first World Series appearance for the Yankees. The program (9.25 x 11 inches) displays a partial separation to the covers, light staining, minor edge tears to the covers and pages, a repaired tear on the back cover, and tape repair along the interior spine to a few pages which once separated from the spine. In Fair to Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $500++. SOLD FOR $830
