Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed sheet dating to the historic 1947 season. This sheet comes with a special provenance in that all of the signatures were personally obtained by our consignor in person at a Rotary luncheon he attended with his father in 1947. Ideally, he has included a letter of provenance detailing the sheet's history. The twenty-seven Dodgers signatures featured on the sheet are those of Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Burt Shotton (Mgr.), Clyde King, Eddie Chandler, John Jorgensen, Carl Furillo, Rex Barney, Joe Hatten, Gil Hodges, Dixie Walker, Rube Melton, Gene Hermanski, Vic Lombardi, Bruce Edwards, Harry Taylor, Bobby Bragan, Stan Rojek, Eddie Miksis, Eddie Stanky, Pete Reiser, Clyde Sukeforth (coach), Ray Blades (coach), Jake Pitler (coach), Red Barber (team's announcer), Harold Parrott (club secretary), and Doc Wendler (trainer). The signature of Freddie Fitzsimmons, who was a coach with the New York Giants in 1947, also appears on the sheet. The vintage black fountain-pen notation "Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Team - 1947" is printed along the top border. The signatures are all boldly penned, grading "9" or "10." The sheet's letterhead bears the name of our consignor's father. Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed items dating from Jackie Robinson's rookie season have always been highly prized by collectors, especially those rare examples with exceptional provenance like this one. The sheet (6.5 x 10 inches) is lightly toned and has two horizontal folds, a slight tear along the edge of one fold, and a two tiny ink spots. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
