1938 Goudey "Heads-Up" collection of nineteen cards (fifteen different plus four duplicates), highlighted by two cards of Joe DiMaggio, as well as Hall of Famers Bob Feller, Jimmy Foxx, Charlie Gehringer, and Ernie Lombardi. This is an original "childhood" collection, saved in the family of the original owner! We have selected four cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. The collection consists of the following: #241 Gehringer (Vg-Ex), two 242, 244, 245, 246 Lombardi/Reds (Vg+), two 247 Vosmik, 248, 249 Foxx (SGC VG 40), two 250 DiMaggio (SGC VG 40 and GOOD+ 35), 254, 256, 258 Doerr (Vg+), two 260, 261, and 264 Feller (SGC VG/EX 50). This is an especially attractive collection of "Heads-Up" cards with the balance of the ungraded cards falling squarely into the Vg-Ex to Ex range (with two lesser). Many appear at first glance to be higher grade but are downgraded due to small wrinkles or light creases on the reverse. Total: 19 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $29,625
