Cabinet photo signed by Mark Twain (1835-1910), American author and humorist. (Mark Twain was the pen name of Samuel Clemens.) Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with the signature certified as "Authentic." The photo pictures Twain sitting in his office, cigar in hand. He has signed and dated the photo in black fountain pen along the top border, "Mark Twain/April 06." The signature grades "7," while the date is somewhat lighter, grading "5/6." The photographer and copyright date appear in the lower right corner: "Copyright 1903/By Pach Bros., N. Y." A second proprietary stamp on the reverse reads "Charles L. Ritzman, Photographs of Celebrities/1169 Broadway, bet. 27th & 28th Sts., New York City." The mount has been trimmed to nearly the exact dimensions of the photo (4 x 5.75 inches), with wear evident along all four borders.
