Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Submitted for grading by REA, we received this extraordinary 1952 Topps #311 Mantle ungraded (along with many other cards) from the family of an oldtime collector who purchased this card over thirty years ago. This card is a gem! Extremely attractive, crisp, clean, high-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is an outstanding example, and with virtually perfect centering, which is a quality that is particularly rare to find in a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. The corners are extremely strong and square, each with only the slightest touch of wear. The blue background is virtually flawless. No creases. Centered 45/55 left to right and approximately 50/50 top to bottom, with a very slight natural diamond cut. This is an incredible high-grade example of one of collecting's most famous cards, and would be a worthy cornerstone of a high-grade 1952 Topps set, a high-grade 1950s Mantle card collection, or any world-class collection of classic baseball cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000++. SOLD FOR $16,450
