Collection of six key rare cards from the popular T206 White Border series, highlighted by Demmitt, St. Louis, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (except one PSA). Since the earliest days of organized collecting, these six cards have been recognized as among the rarest in the T206 set, and are among the key cards that have always made completing a T206 set so difficult. 1) Ray Demmitt - St. Louis (Authentic. Bright and crisp, with evenly rounded corners, deep, rich colors, and well centered. Very clean for this card, just a couple light tobacco stains on the top and right borders. Encapsulated as "Authentic" due to evidence of added color to his cap. The Polar Bear reverse is virtually stain-free). 2) George Brown - Washington (VG 40. Bright and clean, with even wear on the corners, flawless colors, and a light wrinkle visible in the upper right corner. Centered to the top left. Piedmont back). 3) Bill Dahlen - Brooklyn (PSA EX-MT 6. Very attractive card, with a striking green background, centered to the bottom left. The reverse is clean with bold red print. Sweet Caporal back). 4) Red Kleinow - Boston (VG/EX 50. Centered to the top left, with even wear to the corners. Polar Bear advertisement on reverse. 5) Carl Lundgren - Chicago (VG/EX 50. Bold colors, and even wear to the corners. Centered to the left. Piedmont back). 6) Frank Smith - Chicago & Boston dual team designation variation (EX/NM 80. Centered slightly to the bottom right, with just the slightest hint of wear. There are a few very light tobacco stains on the top of the left border and the middle of the right border. The Polar Bear advertisement on the back is off-center to the bottom left). All six cards in this lot have outstanding eye-appeal. The T206 set is universally recognized as the premier tobacco-card issue of the 1910 era. This is a very attractive collection of six key cards from the highly prized T206 set. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades (not including the Authentic of Demmitt) is $2,405. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,525
