Exceedingly rare Upper Deck Goudey Sport Royalty card of Tiger Woods (card number "GSR-TW), flawlessly signed by Tiger Woods in black ink (grading "10") on the front. Graded MINT 9 (OC) by PSA/DNA, which has certified the autograph as well. This is one of only a very few signed 2008 Tiger Woods Sport Royalty cards issued by Upper Deck. The Sport Royalty cards comprised a subset of Upper Deck's 2008 Goudey Baseball set. In promotion of the set, Upper Deck randomly inserted a small number of signed Sport Royalty cards into individual packs of cards. Like all of Upper Deck's signed promotional pieces, this card was signed by Woods under the company's stringent authentication protocol, which is noted in print on the reverse: "Congratulations! You have received a card personally autographed by Tiger Woods. This trading card was signed in the presence of a company representative and/or sent from, and certified as to its authenticity by, Tiger Woods. Enjoy your autographed card!" Forty-three athletes were featured in Upper Deck's 2008 Sport Royalty subset, many of whom, like Tiger Woods, had exclusive signing contracts with the company. While we have not confirmed exactly how many signed Tiger Woods cards were issued, it is generally believed that for more than half of the stars no more than fifty signed cards were released. Few companies today are regularly producing golf cards, making this signed example one of the rarest and most desirable of all Tiger Woods card issues. Additional LOA from James Spence/JSA.
