Two scarce and highly desirable Boston Red Sox World Series press pins dating from the club's 1912 to 1918 World Championship dynasty. The practice of issuing World Series press pins first began in 1911, thereby making these the two earliest of all Boston Red Sox press pins. Each pin is missing its fastener, but still displays exceptionally well and would make a welcome addition to any substantial World Series press-pin collection, especially given their rarity. (To be clear: the original threaded posts are present; only the fasteners on the reverse are missing and could be replaced with fasteners from other pins if desired.) Grades listed do not take the missing fastener into consideration. 1 ) 1912. Manufacturer unknown; threaded-post back; oval with scalloped edges. Diameter: .75 inches. Ex. 2) 1915. Manufactured by Bent & Bush; threaded-post back; oval. Approximately 1 x .5 inches. Ex. Total: 2 pins. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $4,113
