This collection of three turn-of-the-century baseball games is distinguished by the colorful and attractive graphics adorning each respective cover. 1) The Game of Baseball . Parker Brothers, 1894, 15 x 15 inches. Game-in-progress scene on the cover. 2) The College Base Ball Game . Parker Brothers, 1898, 13.25 x 10.25 inches. The cover design is especially noteworthy because it prominently includes a number of women spectators watching a game. This is also an unusual example of this particular game box because it is smaller than the standard issue (21 x 11 inches). 3) Baseball and Checkers: Two Game Combination . Milton Bradley Co., circa late 1910s, 8.5 x 16.5 inches. Only the front lid is present. Illustration of a player sliding into a base as the fielder applies the tag and the umpire signals "safe." Our consignor collected these games mainly as display pieces and toward that end he had each framed to slightly larger dimensions; therefore, none of the games includes the boards and/or game components. While the the two complete boxes are technically in Good condition overall (the lid is in overall Very Good condition), with various minor imperfections to the bottom of the boxes, the covers which are naturally of primary importance with reference to display are largely free of any significant defects and display as Excellent. This is an extremely attractive trio of scarce baseball games, which individually or as a group would be ideal for wall display in either home or office. Total: 3 games. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400. SOLD FOR $705
