Highly desirable New York Yankees World Series ring commemorating the club's 1977 World Championship and the first under George Steinbrenner's ownership. The top of the 14K gold ring features nineteen cubic zirconias set with the team"™s familiar "NY" logo, which in turn rests upon a blue stone. "Yankees World Champions" is lettered in relief along the perimeter. The right shank displays a design incorporating both the 1977 World Series trophy and Yankee Stadium, as well as the year "1977," all of which are done in relief. The words "Pride" and "Tradition" are engraved below the year. The left shank bears the engraved name "Evans," below which is the New York Yankees team logo and the words "Yankees 21st World Championship," each in relief. While not known for certain, Evans was most likely a Yankees front office employee. The initials "LGB," indicating the manufacturer as Balfour, and "14K" are engraved on the interior. One of the most unique features of this ring is the fact that it is approximately a size "7." Most likely worn as a pinky ring by the original recipient, it could probably be resized by a competent jeweler if so desired. 1977 was a historic year for the New York Yankees as the club won its first World Championship in fifteen years by defeating the Dodgers in the World Series. Reggie Jackson fully earned his title of "Mr. October" that fall, as his record-tying feat of three home runs in Game 6 clinched the Series for the Yankees.
