Incredible super high-grade set is entirely PSA graded and includes four MINT 9s, five NM-MT 8s, one NM 7, and two EX-MT 6s. In the world of baseball-card collecting, many serious collectors revere the 1968 Topps 3-D set more than any other set of its era. Whether these cards were issued in stores remains a mystery, but legend has always had it that, as a test, a few boxes appeared in selected stores in the Brooklyn, New York, area. To the best of our knowledge, however, most 1968 Topps 3-D cards can ultimately be traced back to someone who worked at Topps. As suggested by the following grades, this is most certainly one of the finest complete sets of this extremely popular Topps test issue that could possibly exist. PSA Report: Four MINT 9: Davis, Fairly, Maloney, and Swoboda. Five NM-MT 8: Clemente, Lonborg, Powell, Robinson, and Stottlemyre. One NM 7: Flood. Two EX-MT 6: Staub (downgraded for the 20/80 L/R centering) and Perez ("ST" qualifier for a hint of very light glue residue on the back). Both for their extreme rarity, as well as for their very striking and unique design, advanced collectors have always held 1968 Topps 3-D cards in the highest esteem. The fragile nature of all 3-D cards (very susceptible to surface cracks) makes high-grade examples all the rarer. This is a stunning high-grade set. The SMR value for the assigned grades is $16,075. Total 12 cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $41,125
