Complete original 1979 Topps vending case containing twenty-four boxes with 500 cards per box for a total of 12,000 cards. The 1979 Topps set includes the rookie card of Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, and key cards of Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Paul Molitor, Carl Yastrzemski, and Pete Rose. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, it would be hard to imagine that this case does not include a generous supply of Mint 9s and Gem Mint 10s of every player in the set, including Ozzie Smith. The 2008 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards book value for a 1979 Topps vending box is $155. The top flaps of the outer box are not sealed (so one can actually see the vending boxes of cards inside if desired) but all the original boxes are intact and guaranteed unopened and unsearched. The case has typical outer box wear with splits on three of the edges. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $4,700
