Collection of three 1971 Topps complete sets (752 cards per set). Our consignor's husband, one of the great hobby pioneers from the earliest days of organized collecting, purchased these cards in their year of issue and safely stored them away for over thirty-five years! These are untouched sets. The cards are pack fresh, with the normal number of off-center cards that are to be expected. 1971 Topps are especially condition sensitive, as the black flush-to-the-border design of the set makes them particularly susceptible to corner and edge wear. Important grading note: REA sent eight cards from this lot to PSA for grading. Two cards (#20 Jackson and #630 Clemente) each came back PSA NM 7. The other six cards came back "Evid Trim" and were not holdered (160 Seaver, 341 Garvey, two 400 Aaron, two 513 Ryan). We are 100% certain that PSA is in error on all six of these cards, but perhaps there is something that we cannot detect that has caused PSA to misinterpret these cards as trimmed. These cards are NOT trimmed. It is an unquestionable fact that these cards were purchased in 1971 and have remained untouched since that time.
