Postwar Baseball - 1960s Cards
Stunning ultra high-grade complete set of the classic 1969 Topps Super Baseball set. This 66-card set was issued on an extremely limited test basis, and has withstood the test of time as one of the most classic and highly prized sets of the era. Offered is a spectacularly high grade complete set, with seven of the key cards graded and encapsulated by PSA (including Mantle's last Topps card). The seven PSA-graded cards (six selected by REA; Curt Flood was already graded) include one PSA Gem Mint 10, and six PSA Mint 9s. The grades of the key cards are as follows: #2 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt-Mt), 3 B. Robinson (Nr/Mt), 5 Yaz (Nr/Mt-Mt), 10 Aparicio (Nr/Mt-Mt), 19 Killebrew (Nr/Mt-Mt), 24 Mantle (PSA MINT 9), 28 Jackson (PSA MINT 9), 34 Aaron (PSA MINT 9), 37 Jenkins (Nr/Mt-Mt), 39 Williams (Nr/Mt-Mt), 41 Rose (PSA GEM MT 10), 42 Morgan (Nr/Mt-Mt), 46 Drysdale (Nr/Mt-Mt), 52 Seaver (Nr/Mt), 58 Clemente (PSA MINT 9), 59 Flood (PSA MINT 9), 60 Gibson (Nr/Mt-Mt), 64 Marichal (Nr/Mt-Mt), 65 Mays (PSA MINT 9), and 66 McCovey (Nr/Mt). The balance of the set similarly grades Nr/Mt-Mt, with many Mint examples. This is a spectacular high-grade complete set of this extremely rare and highly desirable Topps issue. The SMR value for just six of the seven PSA-graded cards alone is $5,625 (we have not included the one PSA Gem Mt 10 graded card, because the SMR does not list a value for Gem Mt 10s. And this $5,625 figure, of course, also does not include the fifty-nine cards in the set which have not yet been graded by PSA). From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Total 66 cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000. SOLD FOR $8,813
