Graded EX 60 by SGC. Presented is an exceptionally high-grade example of legendary Hall of Famer Cy Young. This example is crisp and clean, front and back, with bright, bold colors, four square corners, and a checklist-style reverse. Only two T3 examples of Cy Young have ever been graded higher by SGC (one EX+, one EX-MT). Because the grading of T3s by the grading companies is relatively new, few collectors have had the opportunity to see exactly how tough they are in grading these large-format full-color cabinet cards. They are brutal. T3s are big cards. There is a lot of surface area to look at, both front and back, to find minute flaws. A grade of EX 60 by SGC might not be that big a deal, for a T206 or a 1933 Goudey, but it is an extremely high grade for a T3. Turkey Red cabinets are universally recognized as among the most beautiful baseball-card issues ever produced. This card would make a significant addition to any high-grade Turkey Red, Hall of Fame, or Cy Young card collection. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000. SOLD FOR $5,581
