Of all the All-Star rings from all years, the 1983 edition is the most desirable to collectors. In 1983 Major League Baseball celebrated the 50th anniversary of its annual All-Star Game by holding the game at the same venue in which it began: Chicago's Comiskey Park. To commemorate the event, every living participant in a former All-Star Game was invited back to Comiskey Park to take part in the festivities. The rings produced were more elaborate and substantial than perhaps those for any other year. The game itself was also memorable, as it featured the first grand slam in All-Star Game history (by Fred Lynn) and the most runs scored in one inning (7, by the American League). Presented here is a highly desirable 1983 All-Star Game ring issued to a Major League Baseball staff member who worked at the event. The 10K gold ring, produced by Balfour, is set with a raised blue stone. Engraved on one shank is "All Star 1933," while the other features the 1983 All-Star Game 50th Anniversary logo. Engraved on the interior band is "10K" and "Balfo" (the company name is incomplete). The ring is in Excellent to Mint condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,058
